Beamish

Beamish is unique! It's no ordinary museum but a living and working experience of life as it was in North East England in the early 1800s and 1900s. Most of the buildings you will see have been brought from across the region and rebuilt within this vast 300 acre site.

Bede's World

Bede's World celebrates the extraordinary life and achievements of the Venerable Bede
(AD 673 - 735) who lived and worked here in the monastery over 1300 years ago.

Bluereef Aquarium

The centrepiece of the aquarium is the spectacular coral reef housed within a giant ocean display.

Exotic species like black tip reef sharks, moray eels, giant wrasse and hundreds of other brightly coloured fish populate this bustling undersea city.

You can enjoy really close encounters from inside the underwater walkthrough tunnel running through the centre of the reef.
